Tyson has been a singing member of the Turtle Creek Chorale since 2017. Aside from singing Tenor II for the chorale, he plays the trumpet and has acted in local theatre productions. He has worked in public education since 2009 as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. In addition to being a school administrator, he serves as the vice-president of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association. He is a strong advocate for Texas youth, LGBT rights, and public education.
Tyson is currently a student at Baylor University, working towards earning a Doctorate of Education in Learning and Organizational Change. He earned both a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree and Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.
