What type of music do you like?
Benny: Very eclectic variety of pop, dance, country, oldies (love the 80s), love, and Top 40 countdowns of today and yesterday. (I’m a fan of the late Casey Kasem)
Moe: I listen to a little bit of everything. I’m a sucker for Top 40 and EDM.
What’s your favorite movie?
Benny: Casablanca, a classic. Check it out if you have never seen it.
Moe: I love comedies, horror flicks, and any film Wes Anderson is involved with. My favorites of those three are Mean Girls, Insidious, and Moonrise Kingdom. What’s your favorite color?
Benny: Red (but not politically)
Moe: I love the color green!
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Benny: Binge watch stuff because I never take time to binge watch anything.
Moe: I would like to think I would use the extra time being productive and doing things like learning new languages, improving my cooking, and volunteer work.
What fictional place would you most like to go?
Benny: Any place where my dogs could speak to me plainly in English.
Moe: I would go to Wonderland. I think the adventures to be had there and surprises would be well worth the trip.
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
Benny: I saw video of a roller coaster ride in the Swiss Alps. That would be great!
Moe: I would love to go on a trip with the mission of seeing all seven wonders of the world. So far I’m batting at a cool zero out of seven.
What’s your favorite drink?
Benny: Arnold Palmer or Vodka Cran for an adult bev.
Moe: I’m a huge fan of La Croix right now. My two favorite flavors are coconut and key lime.
What are some small things that make your day better?
Benny: Starting the day earlier so I can relax later.
Moe: Receiving mail that isn’t a bill, laughing with friends, and drinking espresso. Who’s your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
Benny: George Winston (piano instrumentalist).
Moe: I usually just ask Google Home to play some music and it plays suggestions based on my listening history. What TV shows are you into?
Benny: Will & Grace, The Deuce, Shameless, Modern Family, American Horror Story, and too many others.
Moe: I love American Horror Story, Law & Order: SVU, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Westworld, and Shameless. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Benny: Start with a nice walk on the Katy Trail, organizing the home office or getting a chance to catch up on the DVR, then another walk all while listening to my favorite music.
Moe: My ideal weekend consists of sleeping in, spending time with friends and loved ones, enjoying a great meal, and trying something new. What’s your favorite genre of book or movie?
Benny: Loving the Marvel Universe movies and Mission Impossible type of action movies in an IMAX theater.
Moe: I gravitate toward darker media. My favorite books are mysteries and thrillers and my favorite movie genre is horror. What’s the best single day on the calendar?
Benny: The day after Christmas or Easter, when I can relax after a busy church holiday.
Moe: “That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th, because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.” How do you relax after a hard day of work?
Benny: Reconnect with my partner, Dean, and my dogs and go for a walk.
Moe: I like to spend some time alone to unwind after a hard day of work and indulge in some comfort food. What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Benny: Vienna, Austria
Moe: The furthest I’ve ever been from home is Bali, Indonesia. What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Benny: The Catholic Church Year (calendar).
Moe: I could give a decent presentation on aviation, but I’d have to wing it. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Benny: Get out of your state or country. See another side of the world. Experience another culture.
Moe: Travel to a country where you don’t speak the native language. There’s something to be said about the human connection that can only be felt when you’re relying on the kindness and understanding of others. Would you rather go hang gliding or whitewater rafting?
Benny: Hang gliding, but not alone.
Moe: I would totally do either, but I think I would prefer hang gliding. What’s your dream car?
Benny: My old set of Matchbox cars for which I built models of roads to play on.
Moe: I’m not a huge car person, and I actually hate driving. But I love the way a black BMW X6 looks, or a self-driving car. What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
Benny: The next total solar eclipse coming right over Dallas on April 8, 2024.
Moe: Self-driving cars! And seeing my friends and loved ones succeed. Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
Benny: Liechtenstein, that tiny European country next to Switzerland.
Moe: The most interesting place I’ve been, while not my favorite place I’ve been, is Miami, Florida. There is such a unique blend of vibrant cultures. Living there was like being in a foreign country inside of my own home country and I had a lot of bizarre experiences. What would you do for a living if you could not fail?
Benny: Something with organization or research – archives, music, weather.
Moe: If I couldn’t fail, I would do something in the tech or medical fields. That way I could help people and have a positive impact on the world.
